For this project I chose to make my vinyl decal of a purple converse shoe. The colors I used were purple, blue, white, and black. I found the image of the shoe on google images.
I found my converse shoe on Google Images when I searched "converse shoe clipart black and white." I then added the colors on the Illustrator program so when it came time to use the vinyl cutter, I knew what part was each color.
I had to create my own star with the shape maker tool on Illustrator program so when it printed it did not cut out the box rather than the star.
On my shoe I had to create outlines so all the color pieces were separate.
Once I was ready to print, I loaded each color individually and selected that section of the shoe on the Illustrator computer plugged into the vinyl cutter. I slid the roll of vinyl onto the bottom rod and then slid one end of the vinyl sheet under both rollers on the cutter and locked it down into place with the purple lever. I sent it to the cutter from the computer and on the cutter selected the top purple button "F1" and then "enter" on the bottom right.
Here is what my vinyl looks like after it is all cut out with the machine, and cut down to smaller pieces. Next I unpeeled the part of the vinyl that was not going to be included on my final decal.
Here is shown the first layer of the shoe (the purple layer) being placed on my water bottle with the transfer tape. The white tool shown in this picture is used to scrape on the vinyl onto the water bottle to make it stick.
